Robert Bruce Kirkpatrick, 85, of Bronson, Michigan died Friday October 2, 2020 at home in the loving arms of his family.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 10, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the backyard of Karen Hoop at 263 N Matteson Lake Rd, Bronson, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held December 5, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Lockwood Community Church, Coldwater, where he attended.
Bob was born July 16, 1935, to Terrance and Margaret Kirkpatrick in Nashville, Tennessee. He graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1953. After serving in the U.S. Navy from 1953-1956 he attended the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University. He worked for Michigan Millers Insurance Company in Lansing MI from 1963-1976.
On November 24, 1964 He Married Joanne Speier from Detroit.
He owned Hathaway Insurance Agency from 1976 until 1999 when son, Scott, took it over.
Bob and Joanne spent winters in Avon Park, Florida from 1991-2018.
Bob loved Bronson and had been chairman of Bronson Polish Festival, Charter Revision Committee, Chamber of Commerce and a Rotarian from 1976-2020. Bob was also a member of the Bronson golf league and the Rotary bowling league. He loved golfing, hunting, fishing, motorcycling, euchre, crossword puzzles, camping, yardwork, singing in church choir and all family get-togethers. He could fix almost anything and was willing to help people with any builder projects. He will be remembered for treating everyone with respect and for a good sense of humor.
Bob is survived by Joanne, his loving wife of 55 years, children; Scott (Carol) Kirkpatrick of Coldwater, Sharyl (Steve) Cavellier of San Marcos, California and Karen (Chris) Hoop of Bronson, grandchildren; Jennifer, Joe, Jack, and Amy Cavellier; Paige Kirkpatrick, Taylor, Josh & Zack Hoop and special people in his life; Dawn Kemery Burns and Rick Connolly.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother Terry Kirkpatrick of Saline, MI.
The family thanks the wonderful caregivers of Heartland Hospice for their assistance over several years.
