BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – While there has been a lot of focus on the Presidential and U.S. Senate races in Michigan, there are plenty of local races Branch County voters will to decisions on in this year’s General Election.
There are contested school board races in Coldwater, Bronson and Quincy.
There are three six-year term seats up for election on the Coldwater School Board. Incumbents Clair Dean, Jeffrey Holbrook and Dr. Ed Lake and all running for another term. Katheryn Frederick is running against Kristen Lyon-Welch for a partial term seat which will expire at the end of 2024.
The Bronson School Board race is crowded as seven candidates are vying for three seats. Seeking six year terms are Frank Barker, Bob Cary, Chad Everett, Tyson Franks, Donald Milliman, Mike Roberts, and James Webb. Roberts will be seeking another term on the board. Current board members Lorinda Ratkowski and Chuck Salek decided not to run.
The Quincy School Board race features five candidates trying to win three seats that have six year terms. Current members Brian Preston and Erin Veysey are running for six year terms, along with Jennifer Burleson, Eric Clancy and Tim Miller. Shawnna Craig is the only candidate for a partial term seat that expires at the end of 2022.
