QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – There have been some changes on the Quincy Village Council following the November 3 election.
With Karen Hargreave not running for another term as Village President, Nick Loomis will take over the position after he ran unopposed in the general election for the position.
Hargreave had served as the Village President for 20 years. In turn, she was appointed during Tuesday’s Village Council meeting to serve out the balance of Loomis’ term which expires in November of 2022.
Meanwhile, due to a conflict of interest, Marc Brand had to give up his seat on the Village Council after he won election as the Quincy Township Clerk as a write in candidate two weeks ago.
Brand’s name was already on the printed ballots for the Quincy Village Council when he decided to run for Township Clerk.
His father Gene had previously served as the Township Clerk. Gene Brand will take over as the Quincy Township Supervisor after he ran unopposed on November 3.
Wendy Salyer was appointed to fill the seat vacated by Brand during Tuesday night’s Village Council meeting.
