COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Terri Norris was named the new chair of the Branch County Board of Commissioners during their work session Thursday morning.
She will take over the duties through the end of next month after Ted Gordon had to step down from the Commission before his term expired when he moved to a new home in St. Joseph County.
Norris is coming to the end of her second term on the commission. She ran for Branch County Prosecutor in the August Republican Primary, but lost to Zach Stempien.
Jon Houtz will be formally named Tuesday to the Fourth District seat which was vacated by Gordon’s departure. Houtz ran unopposed for the seat in the General Election after winning the GOP Primary in August.
He will begin serving a full term as the Fourth District Commissioner on January 1. The district covers the first, second and third wards in Coldwater.
With Norris’ term ending on December 31, commissioners will have to select a new chair when they meet for the first time in January 2021.

Unbelievable!
