COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch ISD Superintendent Kris Jenkins says in an effort to balance Free Appropriate Public Education and maintain a safe learning environment, they have decided to return to face to face instruction this Monday at the Waldron Learning Center and the 2 Early Childhood Special Education Classrooms in the Annex Building behind the Branch Area Careers Center and at Jennings Elementary in Quincy.
Jenkins says in their analysis, face to face education is a more appropriate education for the majority of these students and they would like to offer that to the extent practicable during a global pandemic.
She adds, “We will continue to implement strict mitigation strategies (daily screening, mask wearing, social distancing, etc.) to keep students and staff as safe as possible. Families will continue to have the option to keep their child at home and we will continue to offer a fully virtual option.”
