EAST LANSING, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan High School Athletic Association has announced the dates and times for the regional football championship games if the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services approves the resumption of high school sports on December 9.
M.H.S.A.A. tournaments for football, girls volleyball and girls swimming and diving were suspended for at least three weeks on November 15 by the State of Michigan due to a surge of COVID-19 cases.
In tentatively scheduled football regional title games on December 15 involving teams from our area, Constantine would host Michigan Center in a Division Six game at 3:00 p.m., Jackson Lumen Christi would play at Schoolcraft in a Division Seven game at 7:00 p.m. while Centreville would host Sand Creek in a Division Eight contest at 4:00 p.m..
The girls volleyball tournament quarterfinals are also tentatively scheduled to take place on December 15. If the tournament resumes on that night, Bronson would face Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central in the Division Three quarterfinals at Whitmore Lake.
The Lower Peninsula Diving Finals are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, December 22 with the swimming finals on Wednesday, December 23. Coldwater’s Charlotte Calhoun and Mia Rzepka are in the diving finals while Jillian McKinley is in the swimming finals.
