EAST LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Bronson’s girls volleyball team along with three members of Coldwater’s girls swimming and diving team will have to continue waiting for the resumption of the M.H.S.A.A. fall tournaments with Monday’s announcement by the state that the pause order on high school sports will be extended by 12 days.
The Michigan High School Athletic Association will have to reschedule for a second time the conclusion of state tournaments in football, girls volleyball and girls swimming and diving.
M.H.S.A.A. Executive Director Mark Uyl said the M.H.S.A.A. Representative Council will meet on Wednesday to chart out another plan for finishing the Fall Tournaments and restarting the Winter sports.
Bronson has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Division Three girls volleyball tournament. Their match with top-ranked Monroe Saint Mary Catholic Center was originally rescheduled for next Tuesday.
Coldwater divers Charlotte Calhoun and Mia Rzepka along with swimmer Jillian McKinley now must also wait for new dates for the M.H.S.A.A. finals which were originally rescheduled for December 22 and 23.
The M.H.S.A.A. football tournament still has three rounds to go. Still waiting to play regional title games are Constantine in Division Six, Jackson Lumen Christi in Division Seven and Centreville in Division Eight.
