ALGANSEE TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Michigan State Police Troopers at the Coldwater Detachment are investigating a pair of motor vehicle thefts in Algansee Township.
Troopers were dispatched on Tuesday to the 100 block of South Fremont Road on a report of a stolen 1996 Ford 4-door passenger car which was in extreme disrepair. They were told it was most likely taken on a trailer. A Michigan license plate of DBT4668 was attached to the vehicle.
Troopers were dispatched to the same area on Wednesday for a second motor vehicle theft involving a 1984 red Ford F-150. Much as in the first theft, the stolen vehicle was described as being in disrepair and requiring a trailer to remove.
The pickup had a cap on the back with broken windows and rust on the driver and passenger side door by the running boards. The front tires of the truck were also flat.
A witness told Troopers they saw a possible suspect vehicle in the area at about 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. It was described as a black truck with a wooden utility trailer attached. Anyone with information on the location of the vehicles or knowledge of the suspects is asked to contact the Michigan
State Police in Marshall at (269) 558-0500.
