COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It seems like there will never be an end to scammers trying to bilk people out of their money.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Office and other area law enforcement agencies have received several calls from citizens reporting an increase in telephone related fraud attempts.
The Sheriff’s Department has used their Facebook page to publish a lengthy list of all of the different scams as reported by the Federal Trade Commission.
They say the best advice they can give you is to hang up on the scammers as soon as it either sounds too good to be true, or just outright outlandish.
Phone scams come in many forms, but they tend to make similar promises and threats, or ask you to pay certain ways.
