ALGANSEE TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A Branch County Road Commission employee is being credited with assisting an injured man after the man’s motorcycle was struck by another vehicle Tuesday afternoon in Algansee Township.
Road Commission Engineer and Manager Jay Miller says road grader driver Rick Fillmore assisted the injured man until rescue crews arrived at the scene of the crash on Campbell Road west of Brocklebank Road.
Miller says Fillmore was working on a nearby road project when the crash took place at about 2:25 p.m. on Tuesday.
Fillmore is also a volunteer with the Quincy Fire Department.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department investigated the crash. They were assisted by the Quincy Fire Department and the Michigan State Police.
It was the second time this week the Branch County Road Commission provided assistance following a crash.
They were called in to set up roadblocks in the immediate aftermath of the hit-and-run crash in Sherwood Township on Monday afternoon which injured three children.
