Trixie (Caldwell) Bennett, 46, of Sherwood, formerly of Battle Creek, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at her home.
A graveside service, officiated by Reverend Tiffany Cronin, will be held Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 12 noon at Riverside Cemetery, on North Broadway Street in Union City, for family.
Trixie was born on April 28, 1974 in Battle Creek, MI to Roger and Christine (Zonker) Caldwell. She attended Southwestern Junior High and finished at Lakeview High School. She lived in Battle Creek nearly all her life. She had moved to Sherwood in 2016.
Trixie is remembered for her fun-loving personality and easy nature with people of all ages. She was a well-loved babysitter in her younger years and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, caring for elderly patients in her adult years. Trixie also loved animals, especially her dogs; Roscoe, Little Bit, and Sassy. Most recently, wherever Trixie went, Sassy was sure to follow.
It was no secret that Trixie loved country music, particularly the classic country artists. She always had the music of Patsy Cline, Tanya Tucker, Kenny Rogers, Tammy Wynette, Dixie Chicks, Reba McEntire, and Dolly Parton playing in the background. One of her favorite trips was to the Dolly Parton theme park, DollyWood, in Tennessee. In addition to her trip to Tennessee, Trixie had fond memories of trips to Cancun, Mexico.
A few of Trixie’s favorite pastimes were baking, doing crafts, and taking time to indulge in beauty makeovers with her loved ones. She was also an avid reader, and it was common to find her with a book in her hand, sipping on a glass of instant tea.
Trixie had a way of making the people around her feel loved and cared for, taking time to listen and throw in a one-liner to get them to giggle. Trixie had a heart of gold and will be missed dearly.
Trixie is survived by her sister Lorrie Roderick of Battle Creek, her foster parents Kristine Poole and Norman Baker of Springfield, her foster siblings Tiffany (Marc) Cronin of Portage, Tracey (Matt) Reardon of Mendon, Billy (William) Baker, Tabatha Poole and Sarah (Eric) Stimac, all of Battle Creek, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her birth mother Christine Zonker.
Memorial contributions may be directed to her family, checks payable to Kristine Poole, mailed to Lighthouse, PO Box 161, Union City, MI 49094.
