MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s varsity boys golf team finished 12th out of 17 teams on Friday in the Marshall Spring Sports Festival Tom Reynolds Memorial Golf Invitational.
Portage Northern won the event with a 321 team score followed by Chelsea and St. Joseph who each had 333. Coldwater’s team score was 378.
Coldwater was led by Talon Eberts with a 91, Jett Galloway carded a 92, Kyle Sheppard had a 96, Brady Arver shot a 99 and Blaike Kelley rounded out Coldwater’s scoring with a 115. Coldwater’s varsity will be playing in their first I – 8 Jamboree of the season next Tuesday at Arbor Hills in Jackson.
Coldwater’s JV boys golf team finished first in a 9 hole match hosted by Harper Creek at Binder Park Golf Course on Friday with a score of 207. Battle Creek Pennfield and Battle Creek Lakeview also participated. Leading the way for Coldwater was Steven Covell with a 47, Rayce Johnson had a 53 as did Grant Carter, Sal Barone shot a 54, Parkyr Jones carded a 57,, Blake Marske had a 62 and Owen Mitchell rounded out Coldwater’s scoring with a 67.
