Fire on Hillcrest Drive put out in five minutes, damage estimated at $5,000

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It only took five minutes for firefighters to put out a fire Monday evening at 274 Hillcrest Drive north of Coldwater.

Fire Marshal Steve Trall says the fire was reported at 5:27 p.m. and was on the outside of the home owned by Ken and Becky Bible.

The woman who was renting the home was inside at the time and managed to get out safely.

The fire caused $5,000 worth of damage to the home and none to the contents.

Crews were on scene for about an hour and Quincy was on scene with automatic aide.

The Branch County Sheriffs Department and Lifecare Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
