Dale James Hoard, 91 of Bronson passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at his home.
In following his wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services are planned. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Dale was born September 24, 1929 to James and Mildred (Hoyt) Hoard in Sturgis. He married Phyllis Woodworth and she preceded him in death on March 8, 2007. Dale spent many years working in manufacturing and also delivered the Gateway Shopper for over 40 years. He was very talented in training both dogs and horses. Dale enjoyed gardening, and was known for his tomatoes.
Mr. Hoard is survived by his children Veronica (Robert) Moore, Beverly Hoard, Ranah Harmon, Merel (Betty) Hoard, and AJ (Fran) Hoard; his grandchildren James Hoard, Justin Hoard, Evan Green, Alexis Hoard, Devin Hoard, and Tina Stankey; his daughter at heart Jenifer (Dustin Green) McLain; and his companion Mindy Hinkley. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Phyllis; and his son Scott Hoard.
Memorials may be directed to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
My dad married several females.this is not his picture of him either.his kids refused to knowledge me..I am dale James youngest kid.he cheated on his wife with carol Ann watkins-smith of Michigan..many hoards know Eugene Smith who also new dale my dad n refused to let me know this..I got to met my dad.most who do ancestry DNA n other sites don’t get lucky..I got lucky cuz my dad had made another secrete son named Ralph smith..also my dad disowned Jennifer and judge order her to stay away from my dad..I miss my dad..I got 8 months to know him but others made this very hard to do..he said my Mom was the gal that got away..he never forgot anything about my Mom n her dog piolet..he recalled my uncle Ed Watkins..he was kind n told me things I never new like my grandparents ran gas station Watkins in Bronson..he told me he was in rodeo at young age and for many years..one of his wife’s was too..he had several..one of his wife’s has sister and my dad made a daughter with her too..yes kids left Shirley out cuz didn’t want anyone to know there 1st cousin is also there sibling..I learn about Shirley after my dad died..she did ancestry test too…I would like to use a correct picture of my dad instead of who ever this is.its not my dad..my dad always been fair skin light hair n pretty blue eyes..many DNA sites claim he not Indian at all..like his other kids claim he is..dale James hoard also has brother named Walter hoard somehow kids left this out too..also look up dale father’s obit you will noticed all kids listed as kids to dale James hoard are listed as sibling to dale James hoard in that obit for James William hoard..I met my dad n learn he loved vinegar n pickles n mustard that’s where I got my food taste from..my dad called me Angelina refused to call me my given name to close to his son AJ Lee name..I let my dad call me what ever he felt ok with..my great grams gela smith-mathews n Roy t mathews.new my dad family..I didn’t know this..I miss my dad..searched most my life trying to find dad..four DNA test later dale my dad born 1929..my Mom born 1953 I born 1972..his youngest kid
