COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two more marijuana-related special land use permit requests were approved the Coldwater Planning Commission on Monday night.
One came from Constantine Products, LLC of Sturgis for the operation of an Adult Use Recreational Marijuana Retail establishment from a suite that is currently vacant in the commercial strip development at 398 North Willowbrook Road.
The other request came from Yuma Way, LLC of Aurora, Colorado for an Adult Use Recreational Marijuana Grow establishment which would operate in the southern portion of a stand alone warehouse at 325 Jay Street.
The actions on Monday brought the number of marijuana-related special land use permit requests approved by the Planning Commission up to 11 since action was taken on the first one last November.
Some feel that’s to many for Coldwater and some sort of limit or moratorium should be imposed on these kind of businesses but that could lead to legal action against the city.
Those who apply for a special land use permit must follow a lengthy list of regulations under city ordinances covering marijuana establishments.
The city began accepting license applications for Recreational Marijuana Establishments last fall.
