JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A Pittsford man lost life Saturday when his motorcycle crashed in Hillsdale County’s Jefferson Township.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened just before 11:00 a.m. in the area of South Osseo Road and North Street when 49-year-old Wayne Leeroy Evener lost control of his motorcycle, ran off the road and struck a mailbox.
Evener was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies say he was not wearing a helmet.
The Sheriff’s Department received assistance from the North Adams Fire Department, the Reading Emergency Unit and the Michigan State Police.
The crash remains under investigation.
