BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The last of the Branch County graduations will take place on Sunday afternoon and evening as commencement ceremonies are held in Quincy and Coldwater.
Quincy High School’s Commencement will start at 2 pm at the football field. High School Principal Amanda Webb says the ceremony will be followed by a car parade at 4:15 p.m..
The parade will start on Fulton Street and go to U.S. 12. It will end at Pleasant Street. Everyone in the Quincy community is encouraged to come celebrate the Class of 2021 as 84 Quincy seniors will graduate on Sunday.
Webb says there are three Senior Scholars at Quincy this year.
A total of 203 Coldwater High School seniors will be taking part in Commencement ceremonies that will start at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. This year’s Coldwater commencement will be back at Cardinal Field.
Last year’s Coldwater graduation ceremonies were held in early August because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The ceremonies could not be held on the Coldwater High School campus a year ago due to limitations at the time from the State of Michigan on how many people could be outside at a school event at one time. They were moved to the Capri Drive-In where participants could stay in their cars and practice social distancing guidelines.
The Coldwater High School Class of 2021 Co-Valedictorians are Tate Hostetler and Kelly Warner while Kyler Galena is the Salutatorian.
