BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A 75-year-old man was seriously injured while a 74-year-old woman from Coldwater suffered scrapes and cuts after a tree fell on their golf cart Friday afternoon at the Riverside Golf Club on East Columbia Avenue in Battle Creek.
Authorities say the accident happened around 1:30 p.m..
According to the Battle Creek Fire Department, the two golfers were on the 12th hole and their cart was moving when a large cherry tree unexpectedly fell on top of it, trapping the man who was driving.
Firefighters were able to free him after 35 minutes. He was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
The names of the two persons injured were not release.
