STEUBEN COUNTY, IN (WTVB) – The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public to help them during the investigation into last week’s murder of an Angola woman at a home on Lake James.
Sheriff Rodney Robinson said in a news release which was issued on Monday that detectives are looking for any additional residential surveillance video on Lake James Lane 200 and the surrounding areas that has not already been provided.
82-year-old Wilma Ball was stabbed to death at the Lake James residence of 395 Lane 200 East.
Robinson says they are looking for video that was taken between 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22 until 1:00 p.m. the following afternoon.
Anyone with additional video surveillance is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (260) 668-1000 Extension 5000.
In addition, if anyone has information regarding any suspicious activity and/or persons in that area during that time frame to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
In order to facilitate communicating with the Sheriff’s Office, a new App has been developed and recently released. This App allows users to submit information directly to the Sheriff’s Office using a smartphone or tablet and is available for download from the App Store or Google Play Store for free.
Users can also subscribe to notification channels to receive important information from the Sheriff’s Office.
Ball’s murder has upset area residents with many taking extra precautions in recent days. Robinson says his office along with the Indiana State Police are working to bring this case to a successful resolution as quickly as possible.
Area citizens are being asked to be safe and vigilant. If you see anything suspicious or out of the ordinary, report it as soon as possible.
