COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency says the number of COVID-19 Delta Variant cases in Branch and St. Joseph Counties are on the rise.
As of Wednesday, June 30, 2021, the Community Health Agency says they are aware of nine confirmed cases in Branch County and five confirmed cases in St. Joseph County.
Medical Director Doctor Lauren Vogel says, “All three vaccines are effective against the virus by reducing the severity of symptoms and have been proven to reduce the need for hospitalization. All residents should consider getting vaccinated prior the resumption of classes at local schools and colleges.”
Health Officer Rebecca Burns stated, “Residents in Branch, Hillsdale, and St. Joseph counties should continue to take important steps against COVID-19 variants by getting vaccinated, wearing masks if unvaccinated, following appropriate hand washing, disinfecting, social distancing guidance, and staying home when not feeling well”.
If you have signs or symptoms of COVID-19, contact your healthcare provider or local health department for testing.
Vaccination continues to be offered at all Community Health Agency locations and at remote clinics by appointment. COVID-19 vaccination clinic dates and times can be found at www.bhsj.org/scheduling.
