BATAVIA TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was injured Monday morning in a rear end collision in the area of Bater and Butcher Roads.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened at about 8:30 a.m. when a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Alisha Smith of Homer ran into the back of a vehicle driven by 46-year-old Patrick Heinemann of Coldwater.
Heinemann told deputies he had slowed for a deer crossing the road when the crash took place.
Smith was cited for unable to stop with in assured clear distance. Heinemann was transported to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital for treatment of what were described by the Sheriff’s Office as minor injuries.
Smith sought her own treatment.
The Sheriff’s Office were assisted by Life-Care Ambulance and the Bronson Fire Department
