ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – An Angola woman was critically injured Tuesday afternoon when her bicycle was hit by a Steuben County Highway Department dump truck.
According to a news release issued by Angola Police, the crash happened at about 12:45 p.m. on Wendell Jacob Avenue near Glendarin Way.
They say the eastbound dump truck which was driven by 43-year-old Jared Perkins of Montgomery hit the back of the bicycle which was being driven by 67-year-old Susan Stroh.
Stroh was taken to Cameron Memorial Community Hospital. She was then flown by the Samaritan Helicopter to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Angola Police say Stroh suffered a head injury and broken bones and at last report was in critical condition.
The crash is still under investigation. Angola Police were assisted by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department, Steuben County Communications, Steuben County EMS, Parkview Samaritan and the Angola Fire Department.
