COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An open house to celebrate former Coldwater Department of Municipal Services Superintendent Dave Sattler’s retirement will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon in the Coldwater City Council Chambers.
Sattler retired last January after serving the city for 26 years but a proper open house could not be held at that time due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Sattler was hired to serve as the Superintendent of the Department of Municipal Services on May 9, 1994.
He was appointed Superintendent of the City’s Department of Recreation in March of 2002.
A resolution passed by the City Council in January listed his many recreation accomplishments.
He was also credited for improving leaf collection and snow removal. Sattler was also credited with reducing composting costs and for creating a user friendly cemetery grave marking and identification system.
