WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVB) – Michigan Democratic U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow announced on Wednesday that the Branch County Community Mental Health Authority is one of five community behavioral health organizations in West Michigan that have been selected as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic.
The five clinics will receive over $14 million in new funding to meet the growing need for mental health and addiction services.
The Branch County Community Mental Health Authority share comes out to over $1-point-6 million.
These clinics join 24 other certified clinics which are already providing critical behavioral health services across Michigan.
According to a statement released by Stabenow’s office, these new clinics are a result of the passage of the Excellence in Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Act authored by Stabenow and Republican Senator Roy Blunt of Missouri.
The clinics established under the law are required to provide a comprehensive set of behavioral health services including round-the-clock crisis services.
