COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan Department of Transportation announced on Wednesday that U.S. 12 will be closed between Western Avenue and Division starting next Monday for a week as a $1-point-4 million resurfacing project gets underway.
M.D.O.T. will be resurfacing just over two miles of U.S. 12 from Western Avenue to Michigan Avenue during the project.
Spokesman Nick Schirripa says crews will be digging up a sanitary sewer line next week.
The project is scheduled to be finished by September 10 which is a week before Apple Fest is held in downtown Coldwater.
During next week’s closure, traffic will be detoured onto Butters Avenue, Garfield Avenue and Clay Street/Division Street.
Besides the resurfacing, the project will includes sanitary sewer repairs, sidewalk ramp upgrades and pavement markings.
