LANSING MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The state Supreme Court has once again supported an earlier decision that could end up repealing a 1945 law regarding the use of emergency powers.
That law was used by Governor Whitmer in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, and has already been shown to be unconstitutional, but its critics want it completely removed from the books.
The state Board of Canvassers was directed to certify the ballot proposal, but deadlocked on partisan lines.
Lawmakers will now most likely repeal the law, instead of the proposal going before state voters next year.
