COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners has approved a plan that would lead to improvements at the Branch County Memorial Airport. The vote came during their meeting Tuesday afternoon.
Plans call for the reconstruction and expansion of a fuel access apron and the rehabilitation of a taxiway. It would be mostly funded through the federal government
Airport Manager Joe Best said the project would improve safety at the airport, and is part of their five year plan.
The total budget for the designing of the project is over $65,000.
The federal government would pick up 90 percent of the total costs through a grant which comes out to over $58,700.
Branch County and the Michigan Department of Transportation would each pay five percent of the costs, which comes out to over $3,200 apiece.
