COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An updated Branch County Master Plan was approved by the County’s Planning Commission on Wednesday and sent on to the Branch County Board of Commissioners for their authorization and distribution.
Patrick Hudson of the Southcentral Michigan Planning Council has been working on the Master Plan which has not been updated since 1993.
It was updated thanks in part to the controversy in recent years of proposed wind turbines in the northwestern part of the county.
It was also felt an updated Master Plan would benefit development and help communities with grant funding.
Funding for updating the Master Plan was approved by the Board of Commissioners in December of 2019.
