COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Planning Commission reviewed and did not find any major concerns with zoning ordinances submitted by Matteson and Algansee Townships on Wednesday.
Matteson Township Supervisor Kevin Barnes said they tried to consolidate and stream line things in order to make their ordinances more user friendly.
He said probably the biggest change was the addition of the solar energy ordinance.
Algansee Township officials asked the County Planning Commission to comment on their proposed zoning amendments covering wind and solar power. Planning Commission Chair Debbie Lounds lives in Algansee Township and she talked about the power issues residents have faced this summer.
The amended ordinance is scheduled to come before the Algansee Township Board on September 13.
