HANOVER, MI (WTVB) – The ongoing problem of the lack of enough officials for Friday night high school football games continues to be a major headache for athletic administrators, coaches and athletes.
For the third time this season, Bronson has forced to make a change in its football schedule.
The Vikings will play at Hanover-Horton in their Cascades Conference crossover game Thursday night instead of Friday night as originally scheduled.
Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.. It’s the final game of the season for the Vikings.
Bronson was forced to change two home football games this season because of the lack of officials.
There are several reasons why there is an issue with the number of officials. Some have retired and not enough younger people have signed up to replace them.
Others have turned in their whistles because of the amount of verbal abuse and the lack of respect shown to them by fans, athletes and coaches both during an athletic event and on social media.
