COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In addition to celebrating the first conference championship in five years for the varsity team and an undefeated season for the junior varsity team, the Coldwater High School boys soccer program honored a number of individual players with academic and on-field awards Sunday.
The banquet was held at the Tibbits Opera House.
Seniors Ebrahim Ahmed, Joseph Closson, Bauston Feldbauer, Amine Mohammed, Naj Norman, Zeman Norman, Ahmed Umari, and Kassem Umari were announced as Academic All State by the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association. Those eight were also named Interstate 8 Academic All Conference, as well as juniors Austin Atkins, Steven Covell, and Trevor Hensinger.
Senior Amine Mohammed, who was named Most Valuable Player by his teammates, was also named Division 2 Third Team All State, as well as All Region and All District.
Also named All District were Mukhtar Abdulla, Brayden Boyd, Joseph Closson, Naj Norman, and Zeman Norman.
Abdulla, Closson, Mohammed, and Zeman Norman were selected Interstate 8 All Conference First Team, with Boyd, Naj Norman, and Ahmed Umari named All Conference Honorable Mention.
Abdulla, Boyd, Mohammed, and Zeman Norman were also named to the Battle Creek Enquirer All Area Team.
The Coldwater varsity team finished 13-7-2, tied with Marshall for the Interstate 8 Conference title.
The junior varsity team finished 14-0-2. His teammates named Ezadeen Ahmed as the Most Valuable Player.
