MARQUETTE, MI (WTVB) – The Colon Magi will be trying to win a second Michigan High School Athletic Association 8-player football state title on Saturday afternoon when they’ll battle Powers North Central for the Division Two championship at Northern Michigan University’s Superior Dome.
The 11-1 Magi won the Division One state title in 2019 when they defeated Suttons Bay 26-14.
Powers North Central will be trying to win a second straight Division Two state championship.
For all intents and purposes, this will be a home game for Powers since the school is only an hour south of Marquette and they will have a partisan crowd behind them who will be hoping that UP Power strikes again.
Game time is 2:00 p.m. Coverage from the MHSAA Network starts at 1:45 p.m. on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB.
Jackson Lumen Christi is the last Interstate 8 team standing. They will face Lawton in a Division Seven semifinal on Saturday afternoon at Harper Creek starting at 1:00 p.m. Lawton knocked out Union City in the district finals.
