HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office had to investigate two injury crashes that took place within 90 minutes of each other on Tuesday afternoon.
The Sheriff’s Office says the first one took place at about 1:20 p.m. when 19-year-old Merete Marie Lockwood of Camden lost control of her vehicle on West Montgomery Road near Cambria Road and struck a guardrail. Lockwood sought her own treatment for injuries sustained in the crash.
The Reading Emergency Unit, Woodbridge firefighters and Dales Towing assisted the Sheriff’s Department.
More serious injuries were reported in the second crash which took place at about 2:50 p.m. on Bacon Road just east of Pittsford Road. Investigating deputies determined that a vehicle driven by 77-year-old Delores Kimling of Hillsdale was struck by another vehicle driven by 23-year-old Christopher Isaacson of Adrian as Kimling was trying to turn into a private driveway.
Isaacson was airlifted from the scene by Survival Flight from University of Michigan Medicine to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson.
Kimling was treated and released from the crash scene. Deputies were assisted by Addison Fire and Rescue.
Both crashes remain under investigation.
