COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The annual Power of the Purse fundraising event for the Branch County United Way and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library will return to a March date.
The 2022 event has been scheduled for March 5.
Planning has started and tickets will go on sale in January. No reservations will be taken prior to the start of ticket sales.
The Power of the Purse is always well attended and numerous local businesses get involved as sponsors.
Last July’s Power of the Purse had 88 Pack-A-Purse Sponsors.
Organizers posted a survey last summer which asked respondents which date would you most likely attend in 2022 and if they wanted a sit down or drive through event. The date of March 5 was chosen by a nearly two-to-one margin while 57 percent preferred a sit down event rather than Power of the Purse being hybrid or drive through.
