COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency meeting which was not conducted on Thursday has been rescheduled for Monday morning, December 13, at 8:00 a.m..
Administrative Services Director Theresa Fisher says the meeting will be held via the zoom meeting platform and will be closed to physical attendance.
There are no changes to the agenda which includes a closed session between the Board and Health Officer Rebecca Burns in order to conduct her yearly evaluation.
Also scheduled is action on whether or not to renew her contract for three years. The contract is scheduled to expire at the end of the month.
The board’s three member Health Program, Policy, and Appeals Committee recommended to the full board this past Monday that they renew the contract and that the yearly evaluation be pushed back to either September or October.
Burns has been criticized by several members of the public who feel she should be fired because she has overreached her authority and has been dishonest during the COVID-19 pandemic. Others have come to her support saying she is doing her job.
A disagreement Thursday morning over COVID-19 protocols between agency officials and audience members led Board Chair Kathy Pangle to announce the meeting would not be held that day and would be rescheduled.
