COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater’s Downtown Development Authority has launched a community survey in an effort to obtain feedback on the Downtown Coldwater
area.
The survey will be available to the public through February 4.
The survey consists of questions such as “What three business types would you like to see more of in Downtown Coldwater?”.
The survey takes about five minutes to complete and can be accessed on the City’s website, through social media posts, or a QR code featured on promotional material in the Downtown area.
The survey is available in English, Spanish, and Arabic and it’s being conducted as part of the Michigan Main Street Select Level Program.
The D.D.A. is working alongside Main Street staff to complete a baseline assessment for the district and understand the community’s vision for the downtown.
According to a press release from the City of Coldwater, the survey results will be used by the D.D.A. to create transformation strategies that will impact downtown development efforts in the years to come.
Updated market data for the region, and feedback from several key stakeholder groups, will also serve as the basis for the strategies.
D.D.A. Board Chair Brad Rockey says, “The community survey is a key piece in developing transformation strategies for the downtown. Understanding what our community wants to see and what our local market can support will ensure that these strategies are practical and wanted. Over time, our goal is to help develop a downtown that better serves area residents, business owners, families, volunteers, students, pedestrians, and visitors. Seeking feedback from these key groups is critical to helping make that happen.”
The strategies designed for the Downtown Coldwater area will be presented to the public on February 23 at 5:30 p.m..
Details surrounding the presentation will be made available on the City of Coldwater’s website and the Downtown Coldwater Facebook page at a later date.

I’ve lived in Coldwater for 20 years now and currently live in the Township district. I am very much interested in the downtown since I live just four blocks from downtown.
Thank you for providing this opportunity.
