Barbara Adelaide Kibbey, 92, entered eternal life on February 23, 2022 at Grand Vista Assisted Living in Coldwater.
The funeral service will be held Monday, February 28, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Fred Lab from Outreach Christian Church in Lake Odessa officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Barbara was born in Batavia, Michigan on September 27, 1929, the cherished daughter of Dean and Vera (Shippy) Byers.
Barbara’s childhood and teen years are best remembered by her captivating smile and adventuresome attitude. A friend to many, she enjoyed various clubs and sports while attending Bronson High School, as well as her years in the Branch County 4-H.
After marrying the love of her life, Robert Kibbey of Bronson, the couple moved throughout the State of Michigan as required by Robert’s career in the Michigan State Police.
Barbara was a devoted mother to her children Robert, Richard, Teri and Kriste. Her greatest joys came from cooking, visits with her 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, world travel and collecting rare antique buttons.
In her senior years Barbara established homes in Florida and Howell, Michigan. Though in her 90’s, her wanderlust for travel never abated.
Barbara is survived by her children Robert (Cindy) Kibbey of Saline, Richard (Dana) Kibbey of Stuart, FL, Teri (Al) Firek of Howell, Kriste Kibbey Etue of Traverse City; her brother Ross Byers of Batavia, her sister-in-law Shirley Byers of Coldwater and former son-in-law Wayne Etue of Marshall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and brother-in-law Bonnie & Dean Culver, her brother Richard Byers, sister-in-law Marilyn Byers and her former husband, Robert Kibbey, Sr.
