COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinals boys basketball celebrated their eight seniors and then defeated the Otsego Bulldogs 54-46 on Tuesday night in the Cardinals’ final regular season home game at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium.
One of the seniors honored was Ethan Crabtree, who suffered a season-ending knee injury on February 7 against Portage Northern.
It was arranged at the start of the game for Crabtree to score one final bucket.
Coldwater controlled the contest throughout as they improved to 16-3. Aaron Downs led Coldwater with 18 points and four assists while Donte Work had 11 points and Evan Sloan had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Zach Coffing had two steals.
The Cardinals will close the regular season at Portage Central on Thursday night.

Otsego won the underclassmen games. They won the freshman game in overtime 55-47. Drew Ennis led Coldwater with 15 points.
Otsego also won the JV game 74-59. Niko Downs had 18 points while Ayden Dirschell added 15 points for the Cardinals.
