UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Bronson will face Reading for the M.H.S.A.A. Division Three District championship in Union City on Friday night.
The Vikings advanced to their sixth straight district title game and improved to 14-7 with a 45-40 victory over the Centreville Bulldogs in the first semifinal on Wednesday night.
After leading 23-21 at halftime, the Vikings used a 13-3 third quarter to take control of the game.
Bronson’s Haylie Wilson scored a game-high 17 points including 14 in the second half. Jadyn Cary added 15 points for the Vikings.
Reading defeated the host Union City Chargers 42-27 in the second semifinal on Wednesday night.
Megann Russell led the Chargers with 10 points as the Chargers finished 4-18. Reading improved to 11-10.
Friday’s district title game will be the third meeting of the season between the Vikings and Rangers. Bronson won 54-31 on January 18 and then edged the Rangers 56-55 on February 19.
