BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Bronson won their first MHSAA Boys Basketball District championship since 2010, as they defeated Centreville 66-58 in the finals of the Division 3 District that the Vikings hosted.
The Bulldogs had a 13-11 first quarter lead, but Bronson used an 18-10 second quarter to claim a 29-23 halftime advantage. Centreville outscored the Vikings 19-12 to take a slight 42-41 lead into the final quarter, where Bronson would put the game away by outscoring Centreville 25-16.
Four Vikings got into double figures, led by Aden Hathaway’s game-high 19 points. Saylor Wotta turned in his first career double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds, Kamron Brackett added 12, and Reagan Mayer had 10 points and 7 boards.
The Vikings improved to 13-9 and will face Watervliet Monday night at 7 p.m. in the second game of a Division 3 Regional Semifinal doubleheader at Centreville High School. Coverage on WTVB will begin Monday at 6:45 pm. The Panthers advanced with a 57-51 win at Buchanan and will take an 18-3 record into Monday’s contest.
