Tonia Heinemann, 86, of Coldwater, passed away at her residence on the evening of March 17, 2022, surrounded by her family, under hospice care.
Following cremation, a public memorial gathering will be held Friday, April 1, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation, 1276 Tate Trail, Union City, MI 49094.
Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date.
Tonia was born November 13, 1935 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Earl and Mable (Peters) Kibler, Sr. of Ceresco. She graduated from Marshall High School, class of 1955, and attended a local church.
In her younger years, Tonia enjoyed oil painting and working at the local State Farm office. Tonia loved the quaintness of Marshall, enjoyed the Brooks Memorial Fountain and reminisced of it often.
After graduating from high school, Tonia joined and served honorably in the U.S. Navy. In 1959, she met Rolland Heinemann and they married after he returned from serving in the Army in Germany. They had three children together. Tonia loved her family, friends and spending time on the family farm. She was a member of Lockwood Community Church.
Tonia is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Rolland Heinemann; her children, Eric (Holly) Heinemann of Port Huron and her twins. Patrick (Donna) Heinemann of Coldwater and Kathleen Heinemann; her four grandchildren, Joseph (Sarah) Barone, Kaitlin Barone, Olivia Heinemann and Luke Heinemann; her brother, Earl Kibler, Jr., and the new puppy “Snowball” who loved taking her socks.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
