COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The deadline for those applying to be the next principal at the Branch Area Careers Center passed this past Friday.
Branch Intermediate School District Superintendent Kris Jenkins said there were eight applicants for the position.
Current Principal Dustin Scharer is being promoted to Assistant Superintendent and Director of Career and Technical Education. He will take over for Randy Sowles who will be retiring on July 29.
Sowles told the Branch I.S.D. Board last Wednesday they hope to conduct interviews after spring break.
It’s hoped a recommendation can be made to the Branch I.S.D. Board during their May meeting.
Before he became the C.T.E. Director, Sowles also served as the Principal of the Careers Center.
Sowles has worked in the B.I.S.D. for the last 23 years and has been in education for over three decades.
