Vera Louise Renshaw, 81, of Coldwater, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Coldwater United Methodist Church with Pastor Julie Elmore officiating.
Arrangements are being cared for Dutcher Funeral Home.
Vera was born July 7, 1940 in Coldwater, MI to Ivan & Gertrude (Mason) Cox. She married David F. Renshaw on July 28, 1961 in Coldwater. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2015.
Mrs. Renshaw earned her Associates Degree in Education from Lindsey Wilson College and taught for Athens Public Schools for a short time. She was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker and sold Tupperware Products for many years.
Vera was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Coldwater where she was involved with the United Methodist Women’s group. She volunteered much of her time at Maple Lawn, where she enjoyed leading weekly devotionals, and Tibbits Opera House. She was named Tibbits Volunteer of the Year in 2014 and was recognized for over 300 hours of service. Vera served on the Tibbits Young Audience Committee since its inception, organizing a lot of popcorn for the Popcorn Theater and coordinated ushers.
Her greatest joy came from time with her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren.
Vera is survived by her sons Michael (Lisa) Renshaw, Joe (Dawn) Renshaw all of Coldwater; her sister Ruth (Albert) Russell of Coldwater; her grandchildren Mackenzie Renshaw, Joseph (Sarah) Renshaw, Jasmine Renshaw, Lee Martin, Barrett Martin, Lauren Swick, Abigail (Eric) Toledo, Connor Swick and great grandchildren Boston, Sailor and Huxley.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Richard Cox, Wallace Cox and her nephew Steve Russell.
