Robert “Bob” Leroy Mason, 73, of Quincy Township, passed away unexpectedly at home Tuesday, April 5, 2022.
A public memorial service will be held at a later date.
Private interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy.
Bob was born November 16, 1948 in Coldwater, Michigan to Leroy and Ida “Juanita” (Booher) Mason. He grew up in Quincy and graduated in 1967 from Quincy High School. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry, stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. He lived in Wyoming for many years, where he was employed by the State of Wyoming designing handicap accommodation equipment. He also worked as a heavy equipment operator in the gas fields of Wyoming.
Bob was first married to Denise Bowen, with whom he had twins and their daughter, Aubrey. After they divorced, he married Janine Finlayson with whom he had his daughter, Ashleigh. That union also ended in divorce. In 2015, Bob moved back to Michigan from Wyoming and worked for Mary Freebed Hospital in Grand Rapids.
You could always find Bob on the golf course in Quincy, where he was a great golfer and the resident handyman. He worked right up until he passed. Bob was a great guy – kind, well-liked and a jokester. He was known for being humorous and would help anyone in need. Bob attended Lockwood Community Church in Coldwater.
