QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles opened their softball season at home Tuesday afternoon against conference opponent Union City and came away with two wins.
Quincy won the first game 16-1 as winning pitcher Danika Skirka struck out seven in three innings of work.
The Orioles offense saw each of the nine starters come away with at least one hit highlighted by triples from Skirka and Brailee Wood. Skirka and Wood also knocked in three runs apiece.
HollyAnne Tissue added three RBI’s and Kailey Allman had two hits.
The Orioles bats stayed hot in the second game as they defeated the Chargers 17-4.
Cemara Paul had four hits included two doubles. McKynna Connin and Wood each had two hits and three runs batted in.
Alyssa McCavit was the winning pitcher as she went the first four innings in the circle.
