BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The bad weather this spring has led to a lot of make up high school games during the month of May.
The Bronson Vikings have a three game winning streak after they swept Reading 5-2 and 3-2 in a Big 8 Conference doubleheader on Thursday.
Nolan Ray had two hits for Bronson in the opener while Logan Long had four of the Vikings nine stolen bases. First game winning pitcher Reagan Mayer struck out 12 in five innings of work.
Homer jumped on Union City for three runs in the first inning and went on to defeat the Chargers 10-5 in a Big Eight Conference game.
The Trojans led 8-2 going to the bottom of the sixth before the Chargers rallied for three runs to cut the lead to 8-5. But the Trojans got two insurance runs in the top of the seventh.
Wade Hoffman, Phoenix Elkins and Kyle Johnson each had two hits.
Union City is now 10-5 overall and 6-3 in the Big 8.
