LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Branch County’s unemployment rate in July remained at four-point-five percent according to data released Thursday by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget.
Their report stated not seasonally adjusted jobless rates dropped for the month in 11 Michigan labor market areas.
Wayne Rourke is the associate director of the Bureau of Labor Market Information and Strategic Initiatives. He stated, “Michigan’s labor market was stable in July. Modest jobless rate reductions occurred throughout multiple regions over the month.”
The report showed Branch County tied for the 19th lowest unemployment rate among Michigan’s 83 counties.
As for neighboring counties, St. Joseph County was at five-point-three percent, Hillsdale County was at four-point-eight percent while Calhoun County was at five-point-six percent.
Michigan’s unemployment rate in July was at four-point-two percent.
Unemployment rates ranged from two-point-two percent in Livingston County to nine-point-one percent in Oscoda County.
