COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Junior Varsity Cardinal football team got to ring the Victory Bell on Thursday night as they broke into the win column with a hard fought 30-24 victory over the visiting Jackson Northwest Mounties.
The Coldwater offense was led by the running of Drew Ennis who scored three touchdowns on the night while rushing for a total of 194 yards on 30 carries.
Kayden Roby added 53 yards on 12 carries.
Quarterback Landen Auble was 5 for 8 passing for 48 yards, one touchdown and three 2 point conversions to Bennet McDonald, Owen Tappenden and Cameron Shilling.
On the defensive side, the Cards were led by Ennis with 11 tackles.
Logan Smiertka and McDonald had 9 stops each.
Quentin Rust and Tappenden added 7 tackles each. Dominic Diamond had 6 tackles and Roby chipped in 5 tackles as well.
Auble intercepted a two point attempt.
The 1-6 J.V. Cards will host Harper Creek next week
