Carol Sue Barnes, 76, of Coldwater passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family.
A memorial service will be held at the Bronson Church of Christ, located at 718 E. Chicago St., Bronson, MI 49028 at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2022. Interment will take place at Greenfield Cemetery in Greenfield, OH.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Carol was born on August 9, 1946 to Tildon and Margaret (Miller) Hike in Greenfield, OH. She graduated from Greenfield High School with the Class of 1964 and went on to receive an associate degree in business management. On November 12, 1983 she married Steven L. Barnes in Kinderhook.
Carol worked at Fisher’s Big Wheel in Coldwater and Hillsdale for many years, then Truckmaster in Coldwater for 13 years, retiring in 2011. She enjoyed reading and her two dachshunds, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughters, Melissa Lutz of Coldwater, Laura Lynn (Kevin) Reed of Coldwater and Fely (Chris) Butler of Jackson; daughter-in-law, Tamara Barnes of Bronson; grandchildren, Addison Barnes, Anderson Barnes, Riley Lutz, Angela Butler and Lilly Butler; siblings, Ann Morrow of Hillsboro, OH, Paula (Kyle) Sulcebarger of Westerville, OH and George (DeAnna) Hike of Greenfield, OH, and many nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband (2007); a brother, Jay Hike; and a son, Stevie Barnes.
