COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A former Bronson High School student entered into a plea agreement in Branch County Circuit Court on Monday after she was accused of making a false bomb threat at her school on March 9, 2022.
19-year-old Morgan Payge Fill entered a guilty plea to a high court misdemeanor of Lying to a Peace Officer. She also entered a no contest plea to attempted false report or terrorism.
Two felony charges of False Report or Threat of Terrorism and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime were dismissed by prosecutors in exchange for her pleas. Sentencing has been scheduled for January 30, 2023.
The charges were filed following an investigation by the Michigan State Police. According to court documents, the threat against the school was made by email through the State of Michigan’s OK2SAY website.
Fill was a student at Bronson High School at the time of the incident.
Branch County Central Dispatch, the Bronson Police Department, the Branch County Sheriff’s Office and Bronson Schools were made aware of the threat by OK2SAY. Court documents also indicate Fill allegedly made at least five other false reports on the OK2SAY app against the school and another student.
